domino power

I never cease to wonder at the role the 'domino effect' (if you will) plays in my life. I hear something on the radio, look it up online, following a few links to various Web sites, and stumble upon something I feel I most certainly *should* have already known about. That happened today when I found myself on the World Affairs Council's Web site. They sponsor TONS of lectures in Dallas, with really well-known people who've done really well-known things. Yet, I've *NEVER* heard of them. How is that?!?!

In the near future, they've got a Freakanomics guy coming, NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell, and GW's Steven Joel Trachtenburg (SJT!).

You pay a flat membership fee, which entitles you to reduced attendance at their lectures. It's really too bad they don't have a sort of season pass plan to attend everything in a given month or year, though....
